Well, I revamped my other account to displaying photos from my sessions with models. Still an early work in progress, but a start. I am still exploring various avenues to recoup the cost of paying for the models, and location rentals. Tips from my new job will at least pay for my next photo session.

Well, as of the end of January, I left trucking. No real gripes with my company, other then the ubiquitous ones most employees have about their companies. No, I was having fatigue burn-out. Not having a set sleeping schedule, and the long hours of driving, was taking a toll on me.

In December of last year I noticed I was making fatigue induced mistakes. Small thing at first. It was starting to worry me. On my last delivery, from Washington to South Oregon in January, I was driving in the ice storm. In Washington, I saw where two different cars had slid off the highway. Response was already on site for each. I had a heavy load, and was being slow and careful. Heading south, in Oregon, I saw two semi and trailers on there side, and two jack-knifed. Three semi and trailers that had pulled off to to the side of the highway exit ramp, and had the right side wheels off the edge of the road. They were dangerously tilted to the right, waiting on tow-truck to pull them back to the safety of the road surface. Later I saw another semi and tank trailer being pulled onto the road surface by a tow-truck. On the way back, I saw another two more semi and trailers off the side of the highway.

Now, I had to face the fact that in my ongoing fatigued state, I was only a mistake or two from being in a similar wrecks. Sobering thought. I like trucking, but not if I am a safety hazard to others and myself. So, I left trucking, took a couple of weeks off, and applied for a local driving job. Market being what it is, I had two interviews with the first company I applied to, and was hired. The second job I applied to never did get back to me. As I have a CDL drivers license, all I had to do was get the passenger endorsement on it. After training at my new company, I passed the test on Friday. Saturday I updated my license. With some more training on bus routes, and procedures, I should be driving buses solo around the end of the month.

On the plus side, I only have a 15 minute commute to work, a 9 to 10 hour shift, home every night, and two days off a week. With better weather coming, I can finally get my personal shop in order. Get my tools more accessible, and project started!

And in another note, I have contacted a local model, and will hopefully be doing a photo shoot in a few week.

So, I think I have a partial solution to the limit. I have three accounts on here on DA, and the other two are not really in use. One is my poor attempt at a stock site, not updated in years. So, I think I will re-use it as an archive for the images I purge from this site.

As to what I will purge, I am looking at my older stuff. Maybe the ones that that were only Faved, but not commented on, first. I will start by backing up the images, for uploading to a secondary DA account.

As to when I start, I have already purged most of my Scraps. I may start on my older stuff tonight. It will be an ongoing, and time consuming, process.

I will update, as needed.

So, I hit my 50K storage limit tonight.

After purging most of my Scraps of around 300 images, I am now able to upload again.

So......It looks like I will be purging some of my older images, in the near future, to free up more room.

So, today I went to Whatcom Falls Park for the first time in 2024. I took my new (used) GoPro HERO 9 Black along so I could run some comparative video with my smartphone, and Nikon D9000 DSLR.

I will still be working with the GoPro, in the future, to gain more familiarity with it.

With a accessory kit I purchased, I have a 1/4-20 base to mount on my tripods. I took my Gitzo tripod,and ball head, but I forgot to get a photo of using the GoPro on it. I also mounted it on my Davis & Sanford Reditilt Model RTS for some video capture at the Whirlpool Falls.
