Wrapped dao grips

Some examples of grip wrapping I have done on martial arts weapons. Sorry for the quality of the picture, it was taken back in 2005 with my first digital camera (4 megapixels I think).

A selections of dao’s (Chinese broadsword/saber) from my kwoon (school). Some are the kwoon’s and other are owned by students. Left to right – First two red hemp and purple rough hemp cord purchased from a hemp store that is no longer around. The third is wrapped with three strand twisted cords in red along with black cord, both purchased from Michaels Crafts locations.michaels.com/WA/BELL… . The next one is wrapped with heavy duty waxed thread, the same I use to stitch leather. The fifth is net cord purchased from LFS  www.lfsmarineoutdoor.com/ . The next was wrapped with orange and blue heavy embroidery thread purchased from Michaels Crafts. Note there was a little bit of slippage on the wrapping. A well used sword. The next one is wrapped with blue net cord from LFS. The last two I wrapped with heavy duty waxed thread, the same I use to stitch leather.
