Garter Snake

As I was moving stuff from the car to the shop when I startled this little guy. He slithered up the edge of the wood, something I had not seen a garter snake do before. most times I see them just slither off, not up. The next time I walked past the snake had stuck its head out and was watching me go back and forth. A couple of trips later, I has able to grab my camera from the car and get this photo.
